McDonald's is celebrating National French Fry Day by giving out free fries to kick off the weekend.
In honor of National French Fry Day on July 12, the fast-food chain is serving up its world-famous fries. Customers can snag a free order of medium fries today with a $1 minimum purchase in the McDonald's app.
The deal, which spans two days, continues into Saturday, July 13, with McDonald's giving away any size order of fries free, no purchase necessary, in the McDonald’s app. Customers who download the McDonald's app, can also get a free Big Mac with their first purchase of $1 or more.

These freebies are exclusive to customers who download the app. Once you download the McDonald's app, the National French Fry Day promotion is under the "Deals" section. You can then redeem the free French fries at participating McDonald's restaurants on Friday, July 12, and Saturday, July 13.

If you're feeling fancy, the McDonald's in Independence, Ohio (about a two-hour drive from Columbus), might be your next stop.
