Top 10 two-wheelers sold in September 2023 saw popular models registering a decline in YoY growth, but all models registered positive MoM growths.
With the festive season kicking in, the two-wheeler segment is expected to post strong sales numbers. The two-wheeler industry witnessed strong MoM growth for September with Honda, Hero MotoCorp, Bajaj, TVS being the major contributors. Let us look at the top 10 two-wheelers sold in September 2023.
Top 10 two-wheelers September 2023: Splendor, Activa at top
Hero Splendor continues to dominate the Indian two-wheeler market with a monthly volume of 3,19,692 units recorded in September. This led to a YoY and MoM growth of 10 percent each. The second spot was taken by Honda Activa with a monthly volume of 2,35,056 units registered in September translating to a YoY decline of 4 percent and a MoM growth of 9 percent.

Acitva was followed by Honda Shine which amassed a volume of 1,61,544 units last month, helping it grow by 11 percent YoY and 8.63 percent MoM. The fourth spot was taken by Bajaj Pulsar generating a volume of 1,20,216 units in September. The Pulsar range is Bajaj’s most popular sub-brand for over two decades, the sporty commuter motorcycle lineup comprises a wide-range of models catering to a wide section of riders.

Top 10 two-wheelers September 2023: HF Deluxe drops, Jupiter stagnant
The fifth place was taken by Hero HF Deluxe with a registered volume of 84,118 units closely followed by TVS Jupiter with 83,13 units. While HF Deluxe witnessed a YoY decline of 10 percent, sales for Jupiter remained stagnant in YoY. Both vehicles recorded MoM growths of over 15 percent and 18 percent respectively.
Suzuki Access came in the seventh spot with 57,041 units sold in September this year resulting in YoY and MoM growths of 21.75 percent and 6.32 percent, respectively. TVS Raider, at the eighth place, registered the highest YoY growth of 124 percent in the two-wheeler segment and a MoM growth of 15 percent.
The list was rounded off by Bajaj Platina and TVS XL. The former is offered in two iterations– 100cc and 110cc, cumulatively accounting for 48,615 units in September this year. On the other hand, TVS XL is the only prominent moped on sale in India which registered a volume of 44,943 units leading to a YoY decline of 5.61 percent in addition to 23.17 percent MoM growth.
