Is one row of weft extensions enough? ›

If you are looking to get extensions for a little extra volume, one to two rows of extensions will probably be sufficient. One row of quality Bellami hair or Hothead extensions can make a big difference in overall volume. For those looking for mega volume or those with hair on the finer side, two rows is a good idea.

The number 1 determining factor of how many packs of hair you will require is the thickness of your natural hair. If you would describe your hair as “average” and neither thick nor thin, the general rule of 8 packs will most likely apply to you in this instance.

Sew-In Weft extensions take approximately two hours to install, and you'll need 3-4 rows of wefts for a full head.

A full head set of Hair Extensions is between 150-200g. This should be enough hair to add both length and volume to medium to thick hair. For very thick hair you will need more than 200g, we would advise against having more than 280g of hair attached permanently as this would be very heavy on your hair.

Your own hair thickness, cut style, and length will determine how many grams or how many wefts you will need to achieve your desired look.

If you're looking for a super-voluptuous finish, you may be a little let down by a single weft. Especially for those customers looking for an ultra glam look, as there's only a single weft of hair, it lacks the deep layers which will add volume. However, single wefts are still more than capable of looking amazing!

(I-Tip and Fusion packs come with 20 strands per pack; Tape-In packs include 10 wefts per pack, since wefts contain more hair than strands.)

Although, depending on how quickly your hair grows, the extensions will need to be moved up every 6-8 weeks. Unlike other forms of extensions, weft hair extensions will keep the hair from tangling, saving you hours of time when styling and combing.

Typically most clients are going to need two rows for length and fullness but in some cases one row or one row and a mini can do the trick.

To give an estimate idea on price, the average investment for hand-tied extension hair is 2 rows for 22", which is a total of $1700. To install 2 rows, it would be $400 and the hair costs $1300 - this is not including color.

Is 150g weft enough? ›

150g should be enough to add length to already long hair as long as the weft is double-drawn. If you are using single-drawn extensions that are thinner on the ends, it's best to use 200g.

Generally, you'll need between four to eight wefts if your objective is volume, and those with finer hair types can expect to use up to 10 wefts (meaning you'll likely need to purchase two packs of hair).

100 grams or 3.5oz, or 120 grams or 4.2oz, of hair will not give you full thick long hair extensions. Research any website that sells bundles of virgin hair, and they will tell you that it takes up to FOUR - 3.5oz bundles of hair (4 x100 grams of hair) for a full head application.
